  • Why do you leave the paper on, is that to prevent scratching ?

  • @espirates2 Yes, just for the build. it sat on my floor when i wasnt working on it..... and i have 2 very curious children!

  • what was the total cost of the arcylic alone ?

  • @chafchak1 Under $500

  • @uarujoey joey do you think i can make the tank with out the brace i dont like lids

  • @chafchak1 Sure, but you'll need MUCH thicker acrylic. Use my calculator on my site to find out what you need.

  • Curious u say use electrical tape then a few seconds later u say don't use electrical tape?

Local shops. The larger the city you are in the better. I found like a dozen in my area, and man do the prices vary. The best I found was $7.03 per sq ft. EM plastics doesn't ship to the U.S. so I was force to go local. Glad I did. No shipping plus some places cut for free. My shop has a CNC machine so I am confident when I order, the cuts will be accurate. Some shop can route and finish the edges. A small fee but makes our build easier.

  • Your videos are very inspiring by the way. I am now under way designing my setup from scratch. My question is, if I am welding my top cover on top of the other panels, would it not be easier to start putting the tank together from top to bottom instead of bottom to top. It seems like it would be easier to weld the bottom with the tank upright via the cut outs vs turning the tank over and welding from the inside to get the top on. Is it easier to mess something up with this approach.

  • Where you find acrylic that thick?

  • thanks for all the info appreciate it

  • @chafchak1 its saying 1.5 is that inches or mm ?
