  • You're right, freedom is not free. Good thing we have been blessed by so many social activists throughout history to fight for that freedom. It's hard to protest foreign regimes, however, without fueling further discord and possible violence, hence local activism is more appropriate. Encouraging Iranians to protest an unjust or violent system is highly appropriate on the other hand.

  • May I suggest protesting to the Mullahs in Iran, to see if they would accept your "war is not the answer" speech, or better yet Al Qaeda. Make sure you wear the appropriate muslim attire and headwear, as any deviance from it may result in immediate corporal punishiment. "FREEDOM ISN'T FREE!!" And by the way, by posting this comment is MY way of exercising my 1st amendment right too!!

  • God bless all of you who got arrested

So glad you brought the cameras in case the police tried any crap

  • yes, in the 7 years I've lived here, I've never felt more at home than among individuals standing up & really fighting for what they believe in. Like Gandhi said "Be the change you want to see happen," taken literally, but not to an extreme. A solid example of concerned citizens taking action when politicians are too busy powdering their faces and combing their hair for photo opps than focusing on the issues of their campaigns :)

  • i want to thank you all for fighting the good fight. you are brave and you make me proud to be an iowan....

  • Thank you all for putting your hearts and bodies on the line for peace.
