It's a great touch, actually, having Conley sing the "High" at the end. A lot of people don't see the nature of his character.
I think the songs hint very strongly that he was the killer.

also this is a really amazing rendition. GOOD JOB!! im really into theatre and i have een dreaming about this musical for years and i so want to perform it!!! If only our school had enough guys who could sing or a decent set or an ensemble who could act half as well as this one! AMAZING!

I think Jim did it. he killed mary and this is him getting out of it. i think he's putting his own words in Leo's mouth to make it sound more credible and believable. jim is quite clever beacuse if he did it being the acomplice means he can tell the whole truth about injuries and scenes without fear of revealing anything, and the story getting everyone riled up against Leo means he;s more likely to get off lightly scathed for the ordeal.

That was incredible. Everyone was fired up and believable. And the Jim led the group in a real arc from patient to out of control. Great job to the performers.

A lot of people are commenting on the lack of accent. But I don't really care, because to me it's not just about the accent it's about the personality. I know accent really emphasizes the character, but there are a lot of people that just can't do accents that well. It's better to have no accent than a TERRIBLE accent, right? I think this is an amazing performance. He gets so into it and it's just fun to watch. The singing is amazing.

i think he is very talented. jim connelly was perceived as "ignorant" being the racist attitudes of the southerners at that time. In reality, he used this against Leo. This actor should be pandering to their biases... such as on the soundtrack. He should be talking exaggerated southern black speak from the era. Doe should be used instead of Door, etc... He was glad to throw leo frank under the bus to get off himself. This is a very good version. Matt, thanks so much for posting it!
