If your dreamcast keeps resetting id give this a go,its really not hard to do.

The funny thing is i think i may have stuck that drawing pin in myself many years ago as i have a vague memory of doing it lol,i think i heated up the pin and stuck it into the plastic, pretty funny to think that im learning from something that i myself did in the past lol!

  • Great tip, I did the bending the tips fix myself. The reset problem was a real pain in the ar*e especially if you got far in a game and forgot to save your position. I like these fixing tutorials as it is very helpful to the community. Very informative, I never thought of using a drawing pin for the lid swivel. Great vid.

  • @DLiberator78 Thanks dude, yeah its always worth doing a vid about fixing something to save somebody throwing any of their systems out.

  • holy shit this has been happening to me recently and I didn't know how to fix it and yesterday I was playing Grandia 2 and it reset on me and I felt like crying lol but good thing I didn't get that far from the save point

  • Just wanted to say thanks for this video, my Dreamcast is in full working order now with no more 15 minute (if I was lucky) gaming sessions LOL. Only odd thing is it no longer reads the few CDR discs I had (Quake 1, Halflife and other unreleased/Homebrews) I honestly don't care though as despite popular belief that CDR's don't wreck the DC that is where my problems began with crashes and restarts becoming consistent - when I started playing CDR's. Never again! DREAMCAST FOREVER :O)

  • had this problem as a kid, always just hit it on top in rage :P, going to get the dreamcast out tomrrow see if i can fix it hope it will :D

  • i just wipe the pins and it works fine for a few months

  • I used to have this problem with my Sega Dreamcast, a good old smack to the right knee did the trick - about 18 months later and not a single reset lol, not kidding though it's one way to fix it I read somewhere years ago.

  • i feel so smart that i fixxed my DC after watching this video.. its Purrin' like a kitten

  • @amurphy245

Sheesh. The way how you bent them metal things. I was like "Oh shoot. He's gonna destroy his Dreamcast".

    :P
