Kate from our environment team, along with Esther (UK Media) and Henry Dalton (TDF Films) braved the Scottish weather in February (it was actually lovely and sunny the whole time!) to bring you a mini-documentary showing these beautiful birds, plastic pollution specialists and grassroots groups working to clean our oceans.

In our shops we can now accept plastic bottle tops to turn back into our own product pots. You can collect and then drop them into your nearest shop!

  • Then there is a lot from fishermen too. So as you can see it does come from all over the place! Hope you liked the video!

  • Hi Gemma. 40% of rubbish in the Ocean a charity Ocean Conservany say comes from the general public, including plastic bottles, shopping bags etc... Some rubbish comes from landfill where it isn't properly contained and blows in. Some comes from storm drains (especially cigarette butts etc). The amount coming from boats has significantly reduced since the 1980s after the Marpol convention making it illegal, although I am sure there are still ships out there contributing

  • One question, and probably an obvious one, but where is the litter coming from in the North of Scotland? Is it boats throwing it overboard, tourists, fishermen or locals?

  • ooo and I love the soundtrack too!

  • The reality is we really need to reduce our use of plastics full stop and recycling should always be the last our you list. Reduce, reuse, recycle last.

Reuse glass jars, buy a stainless steel drinks bottle and reuse. Get rid of your microwave and stop having meals in plastic throw away containers. Buy food in containers that are easy to reuse or recycle easily. There are so many simple, easy things we can do and save so much money in the process.

  • Please everyone do your part and pass the message :)

  • Brilliant documentary, thanks Lush!

  • poor birdies! ;C

  • I love lamp.

  • I love fulmars.
