the first chord isn't a C chord its a D sharp or E flat. it is however in the shape of a C chord when played in open tuning. Common mistake

use your thumb to mute the low e makes it a lot easier. If you want to add some character you can pluck the base before you start your strumming for each chord ( think thats what jack does). Nice simple tutorial though.
