just a thought or tow on how important it is to know your costs, and how difficult that can really be if you are splitting from the same o2 source, fuel source, and glass source.

  • ultimately, the total cost of work does fall on each artist, thats the sucky part, and unless you have a space lease, there is little to split. each artist needs a kiln at thier station, thats a 14 amp draw averaged at the garage temp during day, followed by annealing cycle after closing time. so expect 14-16 hours at 14 amps for each day. plus the oxygen and propane consumption, which is wildiy different between artists, my bet, if you "split" with someone, you will loose.

  • true words my friend.

  • I am learning all this right now as I set up a one man studio and in just a short time it has already made me very efficient. However, I feel it would be nice to find one other person to help invest and work so that all of the expenses not rest upon just my shoulders.
