I remember being in there In 1988 I thought that's when it opened. A massive guy was sitting at the bar and just fell backwards on to the floor BOOOM! Ha.
This place reminds me of the Colorado Belle in Laughlin, which is another '80s era hotel. I'm glad that least the Belle is still around to carry on the riverboat theme. If I'm not mistaken, wasn't the Nevada Landing another property that was originally a Circus Circus Enterprises property?
I forgot just how huge those chandeliers were. I'll never forget the night the Big Bear earthquake, Ca, struck. Those babies started bounceing around, I was working in the blackjack pit and my boss stated screaming, ''put the lids on and get out of the pit" I worked there from 89 to 1995. Thanks for the memories xjoelywoelyx.
When I lived in California I visited the Landing instead of the Strip! I loved Nevada Landing and went frequently. It was laid back, fun, service was great, staff was friendly, I always won there..........Now I'm in Washington state and plan a trip to Vegas this month. I was going to rent a car just to visit the landing for old times sake but it's gone. What a shame!!!!
this was my favorite place to go an just get away from everyday things, hate to see be gone. My best memory was hitting a straight flush on a five dollar poker machine back in 1993 and winning over 2500.00. Now I hope to do the same at the Gold Strike, which still has coin paying machines. Lots of memories to hold on to, just a relaxing and easy place to be. Bob from Apple Valley, Ca.
man when i lived in vegas(my hometown) i would always go 2 nevada landing with my mom and dad, that casino was badass, i loved it and now it gone like i lost a part of my life :(

@koutesu According to Wikipedia, Nevada Landing was opened in 1989 by Gold Strike Resorts and was sold to Circus Circus in 1995.

@16lizards.. I remember when Whiskey Petes was a small red building too.. In fact, it was originally in the same location of Buffalo Bills..

What do they do with all of the furnishings and fixtures? What a waste if it all goes to the landfill!
