Heskey didn't do too badly Kurt. I blame the tactics. Gerrard and Lampard both play the same role, so only one of them should be on the pitch at the same time. Joe Cole is proven as a great player whether he plays on the left wing or the right, and we still haven't seen him yet. Trust me - it's the fact that we're playing people out of position. Lennon looks like a scared baby whenever he gets the ball. The funny thing is, if you gave them all their club shirts, they'd bury their opponents

@Revelian1982 I completely agree about Gerrard and Lampard playing the same role, which begets the question - why nothing was done to correct this?

As for players being out of position, I also agree. The England players are incredibly talented and would indeed bury their opponents if they were playing for Liverpool, Chelsea, Tottenham, etc.., but again, what needs to be done before Wednesday to bind these players together, to ensure victory against Slovenia?

On Cappellos ratings the best players were Barry, and James, with a grand total of 6/10. Rooney with 5.

yeah i agree kurtmac. england beat croatia 5 - 1 in the qualifiers...where is that now? they should be scoring 2+ goals ..... i dont know, i actually have england in my wc pool at work to win it all....i guess im not doing good haha...but u never know...if england squeezes through, anything could happen.

The thing that amazed me about this is the fact that Algeria had a 3rd choice goalkeeper and even before 70min we had already resorted to 40yrd shots. I agree with you we do NOT deserve to progress.
