  • It is not scary, I grew up using them, except ours did not have nice seats, just wooden covers.

  • ....proving that outhouses don't have to be dark and nasty....this one looks colorfull and clean...old outhouses were built 8 ft. deep...at that depth and with the help of lime,they didn't smell that bad...they had two seats NOT so that two people could use it at the same time but,because they didn't want the stuff piling up in one place...the idea was to alternate piles...one side drying out while the other side's being used.
