  • What I am curious about is why don't they butt the logs together... it looks like their is at least a 3"-4" gap between them.

  • what kind of brush to clean and where did you get it?

  • @ledaczepplindc - they use a brush to clean off loose bark to get good contact with the mortar.

  • what was being used to clean off the wood?

  • it looks great

  • The purpose is efficiency and sustainable use of the materials and labor. The method produces more insulation value than cement and rocks, and trees are sustainable, in that they should be planted. The appearance is very appealing, and it is easier to build than rock.

  • what is the purpose of this construction technique? Please don't say "it's green"...it could have been made with cement/rocks with less impact.
