there is nothing wrong with Haas machines, they are good quality, easy to use and set up, have features that no other machines on the market have, and are used by Boeing,Honda F1,in various medial labs, etc etc, they dont sell 50 machines a month in the UK alone if thay are no good.

Cool I am really impressed with some of the newr mills Haas is coming out with I started out on an old VF3 and it still seems to be the most user friendly machine out there
Haas machines are beginner machines. They are easy to use, cheap and fast for how much they cost, but once you get experience and want to take some heavy cuts they rattle and fall apart. I've had more screws rattle out of the 2 VF-3s that we have. For now on it's Okuma and Mori Seki for us.

yeh, we bought it because it was cheap. all the add ons broke e.g positional coolant, chip auger, air gun etc. once the crap fell off the rest was fine. i'm using a fanuc t14 ibl and hermle c600u along with the haas.

only feature i didnt like was the non linear rapids, only noticed it when cutting in a deep prototype tool. not sure if that was a vm quirk. solidly built machine - esp compared to a hermle c600 we had

Are you milling aluminum here ? Is a VM different from a VF 2

yeh, alumec 89. slightly, vf has faster rapids, vm is mold maker version of it. seems same though

its a haas vm2 mold maker, uses just normal haas control (uses g codes), use vero and worknc for the programming :)
