Radio station WFTQ 1440 AM at 5:00 a.m., November 30, 1980 as received in Philadelphia. Studios were at 34 Mechanic St. at the time. Rotmans Furniture was a regular account at 14Q. Video: my visit to Worcester and 34 Mechanic Street, October 1999.
The most listened to station in New England is an AM station... people must still have those radios... the ones that can pick up WBZ... or perhaps people are just writing down BZ in the ole notebooks for old times sake. And, the number 1 station in Central Vermont is the station I proudly put 6 years of my life into... For me... FM just doesn't have the right bass roll off on music... and the announcers voices don't roll off as well on FM either...
I use to listen to 14Q back in the 70's when I was a kid, in fact, every other kid I knew did also!.. That's when they were the #1 pop music station at the time, and everybody still had A.M radios. By the time I was a teen though.. it was all FM, and we were all listening to WAAF
