As per my openion, Both the parties were responsible and didn't played a good role in keeping peace in Panth. As Sardar Sahab mentioned, Prof. Sahab is inspired by Congress Party or vice versa. So, this can also be seen as, the shararat of Congress.
Which ever the case might be, we can not deny that Jathedar's couldn't handle it in a diplomatic way and caused harshness in Sikh Panth.

Technical Speaking, There are 3 types of people in Sikhism as far as Dasam Granth is concerned. One, who believe in DG, second done believe and third neutral. The Third catagory is a majority of Sikhs, who have not read DG and dont know anything.(-ve or +ve). Now, who will do the hearing? If these Jathedars who believe in it, gets aside, who should do the hearing? the people who dont believe in DG. Wouldn't their personal interest conflict in this situation? cont.....

Agree with first part. But do not agree with last part.
If somebody start abusing Sri Guru Granth Sahab and Case goes to Akal Takhat, who should they call to make the decision? If they call Vidwans, they have to call the vidwans who do not believe in Guru Granth Sahab. Means they have to call Hindus or Muslims or may be Christians to decide upon it. When somebody challenge the constitution, Supreme court do not call Pakistan Court to do the justice.
