The idea is you won't be in the vechile yourself but you would be controlling the movement of the vechile through remote/computer. So, you are not out there and risking your life from IED or other attacks.

this technology has been around for a long time its nothing new they tested a section of California freeway with something like this and it worked awesome all the cars and trucks were controlled by a computer since comp can adjust speed and braking so much faster the freeway was able to handle much more traffic with less wasted time but of course at the time the cost to set it up was $10,000 per mile
