  • That is a beautiful bow,

  • @blackfeatherarchery Thanks, this was my first bow and I really liked it. I can highly recommend it as a good starter/intermediate bow. I have changed bows since then. I bought a special Bernardini Nilo last May and am extremely pleased with it.

  • i have never shot a competition recurve bow before and since i have my traditional recurve bow with 60# draw weight on it so mu Q is is it gonna make a big difference when u shoot a bow like urs or pse optima with a draw weight of 35 or 38# when i am used to shoot a recurve bow with 60# draw weight on it, i feel 35# is kinda light!!! any thoughts plz, ty

  • That's quite a poundage difference! You will feel that the 35-38# is lighter but the technique is the same. If you are going to shoot olympic style (ie. with sights, stabs from 70m) you might even consider going up a little in poundage to reach 70m w/o probs. A couple of clubmates of mine use 40-43#. If you're shooting barebow at 50m or less then 35-38# is OK. I have 36# right now and reach 50m with no problems. Hope this helps.

  • I noticed you walk the string with your thumb. How does that work?

  • it's pretty easy actually, You start by placing the tab under the arrow. The higher you place the tab on the string (i.e. closer to arrow), the higher the arrow will hit the target. The lower you hold it, the lower it will hit. This way you can adjust for different distances simply by placing the tab differently.

  • @ArcheryGuy Awesome, Do you have a sight system for it.

  • it did help, ty though

  • I've never used a PSE bow before so I can't really say if it's good or not. I definitely recommend going for a take down bow so you can possibly buy other limbs or replace the riser later if you want. If you do a Google search on "PSE optima" you can get some info on it from some of the archery forums

  • i like this bow, i am also interested in PSE optima recurve bow, 66" long and 35# draw weight !!! any thoughts? ty
