  • @sweetgyy i have the new FT-450AT ant the screen is hard enough, isnt very delicate

  • the screen display is beautiful but how strong is it ? can it take some pressure like a gps screen ?

  • @CyteBorg

Thank God that beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

    Radio is awesome looking.

  • I must tell you folks, ive owned many many radios from Icoms to kenwoods, some expensive, some not so, The Yaesu ft 450 is the best radio for the money, ive put it against my 6,000 Yaesu, It has an increadable RX and TX, has built in voice recorder for contesting, the Dsp and digital noise reduction is unsurpassed, it cant be beat for a radio under 800.00. Yes Its Ugly But, Once you try it and work it, you will see its an awsome radio. you cant go wrong for the money.. I Promise....

  • pointless

  • I assure you, it's not a 'toy'. This radio amazed me during the last WPX SSB contest. I was working the DX one after the other, 'barefoot' (100w) with just a Mosley TA-33 Junior strapped to my chimney at 20 feet. I also have a 756Pro3 and an FT-2000, but decided I wanted to 'test out' the little 450. It's an amazing little radio!

  • The tiny (and I DO mean tiny) knob is annoying, but this is a great radio value, all things considered.

  • You're kidding right? This is one of the best looking radios ever made. Way more hi tech looking.

  • just look at that dik of a radio knobs are far to small inless you are a five year old but works ok mybe i will try one,,oh deer i must be a nutter jeff..

  • I think this is a neat looking little rig! Compare the features on this rig to what was on offer on transceivers over 20yrs ago for a lot more bucks!! For the money this radio is a steal !!
