@megabot80 because it turns it into audio. Thus, lowers CPU usage. Also, in order to hear the build, if it were midi, you would have to start playback at the beginning of the midi note.

@Killparispaige I watched another vid about reducing cpu load in live and he just used freeze and not flatten, what are the advantages to using flatten?

@megabot80 When you flatten, it turns it into audio. So you can warp and stretch stuff out. Depends on the situation for what's best.
