Sawao's terrible singing

I completely agree with this shit right here, folks. Sawao's voice is awesome because of its sloppiness. I like that shit.

I think over the years he's gained more control over his voice, but in any case, the emotions that he can elicit from his listeners in any one of his songs more than makes up for his technical imperfections. It's what makes Sawao, Sawao.

Maybe you feel like you had been the first man who stepped on the moon or something because of this. I know his singing is quite shitty compared to other artists, but it's ok for me.

I thought Living Field was amazing, I don't know how pillows fans couldn't like it. To each his own I guess

LOL YOU GUYS ARE SO COOL THINKING THEIR EARLY ALBUMS SUCK BECAUSE ITS NOT ON FLCL I FUCKING HATE PEOPLE LIKE YOU.
THEY WERE INFLUENCED BY OTHER THINGS BACK THEN. PLUS IF A BAND WAS CONSTANT, THEY WOULD BE BORING. PUT UP OR SHUT UP FAGGOTS.

To a certain extent, yes most Americans auto tune their voice. Maybe not super heavy but there are hints of it that you would catch if you actually sing and do voice work.
@thejedipunk lol, okay I will admit that Sawao's first line on that Nine Miles cover sounds literally retarded.
However I still stand by the rest of what I said. Not a fan of Living Field, I think Lostman is okay, I love all of Little Busters. I used to have sort of the opposite opinion of you, that everything BEFORE PML was crap. Then I heard Paris no Josei Mari, and Kool Spice. I feel that your unilateral denunciation of their recent output is just as rubbish. Why not give it a chance?

@gloriouspeanut I have given some of it a chance. I do in fact have Wake Up!^3 and the first track was the only decent one on that album. It sounded more along the lines of their late 90s material. But the album failed to live up to the standards that the band set back in those days.
It's one of two things: Sawao creativity has hit a wall or fame has really gotten to his head.

@gloriouspeanut I will give you this: I don't expect everyone who is into the pillows, new or established fan, to completely accept everything up until Living Field. Kool Spice and Living Field themselves are two albums which are kind of hard to grasp for any fan. It's like night and day when you've been listening to Happy BIvouac for months on end and all of a sudden "Day Dream Wonder" or "Something like a romance" starts blaring through your speakers.

@thejedipunk You need to listen to "Wake Up! Wake Up! Wake Up!" Sweet Baggy Days, Century Creepers... it's definitely on par with their old stuff in terms of emotion and lyrical content. Just read the lyrics to Wake Up! Dodo! The style is not the same, but in this case, the "heart is there." And it's from 2007.

@gloriouspeanut You must be joking. I think you should listen to Living Field, PML, and Little Busters. Forget everything past Penalty Life. It's all crap. "Heart Is There" was a terrible song, and much worse was Sawao yelling out "HAAARRRR IZ DAAAAARRRRRRrrrrr".

The great thing is that he doesn't auto tune the shit out of his voice like these singers in America do. He keeps his voice the way it is and he deserves respect for that atleast unlike the auto tune wizards over here.

@Qkochan3 Right, because all American singers auto-tune their voice.
