Dude, Marley was a poor jamaican himself till he got famous etc. His father was a white guy, and his mother was a woman who worked on the plantage of his father.
And Clapton first stole the tune, and later on the became 'friends' again. Clapton does a great job, and indeed gives the credit to Bob. They both are amazing. We'll never know which one is better ;) It's about your taste.

PEACE AND LOVE- GREAT PERFORMANCE BY A TRUE MUSICIAN....HE GIVES MARLEY CREDIT (EVEN THOUGH MARLEY STOLE A LOT OF HIS MUSIC FROM POOR JAMAICANS) CLAPTON DOES THE TUNE BETTER THAN MARLEY EVER COULD......

Eric and Bob only spoke on the phone once met each other backstage at one of Bob's shows.Unfortunately no photos.Nobody pays a better tribute to Marley than Eric.
