**************
Jonathan Kidd introduces the wonders of the Commodore 64 for late buyers, guiding you through the installation of the machine plus a few of the bundled games to sample.

Some Commodore packages, for example the Mindbenders set, contained an edited version of this tape, as no lightgun or Shoot-Em-Up-Construction-Kit package would have been included.

The 'remastered' soundtrack is accompanied by various Commodore imagery from my personal collection.

  • How do you configure the keys to play games? I can't figure it out.

  • @Luigi84289 That question's not altogether clear. If you mean assigning keys to act as Left, Right, Up, Down or Fire then these will have already been assigned. The software's instructions or game screen will let you know.

If you mean asking the computer to load a game then the video tells you how to load a tape. For disk, type LOAD "*",8,1,1 (or just LOAD "*",8 ).

  • I've put the tape's flip-side up now.

Find it in the MORE FROM ONLYGOODCOMMIE list.

  • "The Commodore 64 is everything you want it to be - and more!"

It's not the Amiga though, is it? There I was getting into my lovely C64 for the first time and he goes and rains on my parade!

  • Do you know where i can listen to the flip side of this tape by any chance?

I remember it being spooky in parts,

but didnt remember that it was actually amiga music!

  • I don't see why I shouldn't put up a copy of the B-side now it's been asked for.

To be honest, I never put it up before because the tape's Amiga music bored me stupid. It just sounded like a bunch of generic arcade music to me.

  • @Luigi84289 Get a joystick. If you're in the UK, you can get a Competition Pro 5000 joystick for like $10 dollars. They're awesome. If you're in the US, they're fairly uncommon, but Suncom Tac-2s or Wico Bat Handle type joysticks are also worth getting. Atari 2600 joysticks work too, but there are better alternatives as stated above. Some games use the keyboard, such as text adventures and RPGs, but you really need to get a joystick.

  • C64 had 3D tech? why didnt i know about this before?

  • They should package this with modern PCs, but with all the old specs and shit dubbed with modern stuff in a really obviously different voice. :)

Any chance you could upload the B-side?

  • Ha, have got this on original cassette - lol!

  • FUCKEN HELLLLL ive no heard this in years

  • Been looking for this audio for ages - Cheers!
