@slvrsurphor They were before the White Stripes. Detroit is where garage rock is from, Jack White didn't invent it. Bands like ? and the Mysterians, MC5, Alice Cooper and the Stooges were cranking out lo fi classics before White could even walk

There ain't a thing wrong with that. Brilliant guitar sounds, primitive drumming, great singing, Just awsome!

It doesn't make sense to me why people hate on the modern bands who had great influences such as Gories. Who cares if it sounds similar. That's what music is all about, taking something and giving it your own little twist. Nothing is original. Not only that but it gives the kids now days a chance to hear something they might not have if that modern band didn't exist. A lot of good music is put on the back burner but new bands like the White Stripes bring it alive once again.

i remember flicking through the independent noise section of a particular record store back in the early nineties and actually purchasing a gories record. nice to know i can actually see them perform all these years later. thanks youtube for reigniting a passion. i will definately be checking out amazon to see if there are any cd's available, pretty soon! excellent stuff! cheers!

Funny.
why does it always have to be one band or the other? its not like you have a max of 10 bands you can like, like em all
