A few of the exercises I've been doing the last couple of months since I picked up this 8lb hammer. I'm still working on getting the lever to the head more strict (helps to watch yourself on video) and the front/back holds are done choked up 12" from the end.

  • What monkey ass land are you in mate?

  • @LightningLiquidity Philippines :)

  • @gumpster6 how did you train to hold it paralell to the ground?

    Thats strong!

I cant hold it still like that, not that far up the handle!

  • @LightningLiquidity I marked the handle in 2" increments from the head and slowly worked my way back. My best now is 24" from the head on the front hold...doing it from the end is really hard and I've only seen a few do that with an 8lb hammer. The rear hold is much easier and I can now do it from the end (roughly 28" between my hand and the head).

  • @gumpster6 how long did it take you? I can hold it bakwards, almost the whole handle but only like 30 centimeter when the head of the sledge is facing the same way I am.

  • @LightningLiquidity Just a few months of practice to get where I was in this video, progress really slows down after the fast initial gains (just like grippers or anything else). Try to keep the heal of your palm on top of the handle so you're stressing the wrist more than your grip.

  • @85wifebeater Thanks, I've done that and you're right it does.

  • @gumpster6 ok, cool ;D I'll try that. I have videos of me levering but Im not as good as you. 85wifebeater is the user that has posted those videos. :D

  • @tonyvalente That's the first time I've ever heard that. I've never had any elbow problems from it and thousands of grip fanatics the world over use them regularly. Maybe you're the exception.

  • will give you tennis elbow and golfers elbow. takes forever to heal. not worth it.
