This was from a Southern Comfort sponsored tour with Keith Smith the British trumpeter leading the Allstars. Nat Pierce, Arvell Shaw, Barrett, Johnnie Mince and Bob Havens .... great muso's, nice guys and a fabulous drummer

Billy Kyle on bass! Awesome. Not the fastest drummer by a long chalk but very entertaining in a old school kind of way.

I think you're wrong about his age. When I saw him it was obvious he wasn't a teen ager like I was. I'm almost 75 so he must be older than 70.

There is more Barret Deems footage on the "Benny Goodman In Warsaw Poland 1976" youtube clip. No solos but he is there backing Goodman. Goodman and Deems...yikes that must have been an interesting conversation.
