Cool vid. If I were to use gesso, will it make my pages look old? I'm after an ancient look but I want to cover the words in it.

@SayuriKurata NO it will not make your pages look old. think of gesso as primer, it what goes under the paint. if you want an old look use glazes or more paint over the gesso... hope that helped... smiles..

@TerriSproul Thanks a bunch! :) So, does it matter what type of paint I use if I'm gonna paint over the gesso? And just out of curiosity if I use an alternative over the gesso for an ancient look, say coffee, does it help? It's for my college project, so I'm experimenting but I'm not really getting the desired result. Sorry for the lame questions!

@SayuriKurata You can use anything. I would also try to add the coffee to the gesso and see if that give you the look you are after. NO Lame questions - ever!
try adding the coffee to a small amount of gesso and see what happens. I think I am going to try that. Should be really cool... have fun - find me on facebook and send me the photo of the finished project.
