Iowa Interstate Sub 2 work train dumping ballast

On Thursday 3-18-10, work is well underway on Iowa Interstates Subdivision #2 rehab project. A Cat backhoe does the honors as we watch from the side of Rt.29 south of Henry IL. Check out the Chessie gon!

Dude, thats me unloading the rock. We unloaded from Henry south almost to Peoria. The cars were pilled to high to winch through, so I had to start at the back and skim off the tops befor I could 100% clean out the cars... this is cool!

why didnt they use ballast hoppers

I think they will when they are ready to dump for the whole line. This is just getting started.They are dumping by the crossings to be re-built now.

that new holland is terrible......i fear change
