The fifth in my series of bass reviews... this Hamer 5-string Cruise Bass is completely original and currently sports an unknown set of strings. They feel like D'Addarios to me! This is a 1995 model, the first year of production.

Specifications not mentioned in the video:
unknown body wood
The finish morphs in to different shades of blue, hard to see on camera.
Rosewood fretboard
String spacing at nut - 9mm.
String spacing at bridge - 16.5
Weight of this bass: 10lbs 5oz

  • please review the HAMER IMPACT! id die to play it!

  • @awfulguitarplucker - That Impact kind of looks like a Music Man Big Al. Pretty unique for sure. If I could get my hands on one I would love to review it.

  • @zumazmusic @zumazmusic uh hold on a second..>.< i think i named the wrong IMPACT x3

what i was referring to is that IMPACT looking like being made out of mahogany with two stripes of maple thru-body, (google for Hamer impact bass, its one of the first photos, i cannot post a link ,YT seem screwed sometimes x3)

    its just INSANELY BEAUTIFUL !

  • @awfulguitarplucker - Ahhh, I see the one you mean. That one does not look like a Big Al. It's a beauty.

  • I'm in love with this bass. I already own one.

    Is this one for sale?

  • @DanTheBass - It was for sale and has (sadly) been sold.

  • I have the 4 string with 2TEK. Got it back around 1996.

I love it but it is too heavy. I guess 2TEK went out of business. Not sure but you don't see these bridges anymore.

  • nice bass. the 2Tek is incredible.

  • @zumazmusic exactly! imho, the best 5 string bass ever produced by Hamer..its so beautiful it doesnt even look like an electric bass! XD

  • Definitely loved hearing some Cure played there. Sounds like quite the beaut!

  • I own this same bass. It has been real good to me over the years. When this bass came on the scene in 95 there was no bass like it. I swapped the Seymour Duncans out for Bartolinis. It is the only bass I have ever played that is perfectly balanced while sitting. One great thing about this bass is that the G string never gives gets lost in the mix. It is a shame this bass never had much of a shelf life in the stores. This bass destroys all the fender 5 strings in my humble opinion.
