  • The baseball was so much better then, and the guys made pennies compared to the morons today. Aaron, Mays, Mantle, Koufax, Spahn would make 100 million/yr based on the standards.

  • I'm 19 and I agree 100%

I love watching my Anaheim Ducks.

I love, LOVE atching my San Fran 49ers.

But I LIVE FOR MY METS. And BASEBALL. It still has that magic... it still is THE game that evokes poetry and song when we talk about it. And my friends who don't like sports... they're in drama and don't like sports... they like baseball. Someone likes the Red Sox, someone the Cubs, someone the Dodgers. My teacher was a little girl in 1969 when the Mets won. Uncle loves Yanks. FAMILY.

  • @sharpshooter22nutria Not just baseball but the other sports too like NBA and NFL.Rigged.Roids.You can't even hit anybody in NFL anymore.A joke! All watered down

  • I think the title of this series should've been "when it was more than a game." even when I was a kid growing up in the 70s, the first thing you associated with a city was its baseball team. one reason is because teams brought back the same players each year, so each team had its own personality. but today the players you root for will probably be playing for the rivals next season, which means you're basically rooting for a color, a logo, but not a team. Today, it's just a game.

  • @billc756 Hopefully the team will be sold to a TRUE baseball fan and gets itself in the right direction. I always knew that when McCourt purchased the franchise it was not good. The O'Malley's had faults but they loved their Dodgers.

  • @mgwilliams1000 You ain't alone friend. I grew up with stories about My grandpa seeing Drysdale, and Koufax in the 60's. As a child I fell in love with not only the game of baseball but I fell in love with the Dodgers. I'm stuck in beating heart of Braves territory. But I will forever bleed Dodger blue.

  • @billc756 Yes, a fan since I was 5... that was 1963. I grew up in Bakersfield California. Was a bat bat-boy in 1968 for A-ball with players such as Ron Cey and Bill Russell. Retired from the Navy 4 years ago and live now in Hanford. Only say that because it seems I'm the only Dodger fan in the town among Giants.

  • Does anyone know the name of the instrumental song? The composer? Can I buy it on Itunes or Amazon? Thanks

  • @sharpshooter22nutria What standards today? These guys kill me now. A hangnail or a cold and they can't play. I'm with you, give me the guys in this documentary ANYDAY!;-)
