THIS IS PURE GOLD!
-
It is.
It's the Czhuan Ping Pong Yan.
A little known stringed instrument that Caruso pioneered its use in Opera recordings.
I'm amazed at your keen auditive sense.
Few have been able to grasp it, as the instrument
has long been extinct.
The original maker, Chuang Tzu Pang Ping, died in the Box rebellion taking forever with him the secret of it's construction.
For now, all we have left is these re-mastered Caruso recordings to document the mythic Czhuan Ping Pong Yan.

Rara intensità: parole e voce di Caruso toccano il cuore

The definitive performance of this bel canto gem, displaying the elegant and refined tenore di grazia of the young Caruso. Surpasses even De Lucia's marvelous recording of the aria in pure vocal lusciousness and splendor.
this is the finest display of bel canto singing that we have on record! the use of dynamics that convey the thought process of this fabulous singer are evident. the easy fluidity of tone that caruso possesses is by far superior to the way singers sing today. air folks. its should all be on the air. caruso once said "i just take in air push my chest out and sing"! wish it was that easy? me too.

Agree w/meltzerboy 100% (tho haven't heard De Lucia's). Listened to most of the greats past & present on this aria & Caruso expresses it in a way no one else does! This recording is particularly beautiful. THANK YOU for posting! I hope more viewers will discover it.
