Since unlike in the 1970s, today only 2% of U.S. electricity is generated from oil, plug-in hybrid electric vehicles, that look and perform just like "regular" cars, have a 300 mile range like "regular" cars, but can be optionally plugged in and run on electricity from the power grid for 20 miles or so of driving, are a great way to reduce our dependence on foreign oil without compromising the American way of life.
They are coming, but so slowly. I can't understand the delay. Even if the mfg treated it as a niche market, it is a huge niche. Get it outnow! Make it perfect later.
