Councilmember Madison Nguyen, district 7, had maliciously INSULTED the VietAmerican Community in San Jose, California

"Dear Mayor Reed and San Jose City Council,
In a television interview (in Vietnamese) with Vietnam Liberty News, Inc., after Councilmember Madison Nguyen imposed name Saigon Business District (SBD) was passed 8-3 at the expense of democracy, regarding the question of the attendees at that meeting, CM Madison Nguyen stated that: (1) She can not make a decision just based on the people who have some determination, SOME FREE TIME, and some interest [to show up at the city hearing]; (2) If making a decision solely based on the people who attend, who will represent those who hold SOME JOBS, FULL-TIME, 2-3 jobs, that couldn't find the time to attend?
As a concerned San Jose resident who attended the Nov. 20th meeting together with more than 1000 other individuals, I am very insulted by her remarks, implicitly labeling the attendees as job-less. For her information as well as that of whole city council:
1. WE NEITHER HAVE "SOME FREE-TIME" NOR ARE JOB-LESS! Many of the attendees, including my husband and I, had to take half-day off from work, as well as many others who had to rush through the traffic after working 1-2 jobs to get to the city hall on time that night.
2. Her sugar-coated statement sounded like the councilwoman cares for other citizens (who can not attend the meeting), but it further reveals her continued intent to mislead the public. She insisted that her decision (on the name SBD) is to represent the larger portion of her constituents (district 7) who do not speak-up on the issues. But, if they do not speak up, how does she know what their stand on this issue is? If or when they do speak up and their choice is the name "Little Saigon" (as the San Jose Mercury News online poll indicated that Little Saigon was favored by more than 90% with more than 4,000 participants), will she quickly dismiss them as "most vocal but may not be the majority" as the Mayor had stated on San Joe Mercury News after their press conference on Nov. 15th? Furthermore, with this statement, Council member Madison Nguyen had maliciously insulted the attendees of the Nov. 20th city hearing as a bunch of job-less individuals (not holding some jobs, full-time, or 2-3 jobs!)
In light of the November 20th city hearing, CM Constant warned that many council members went in with their mind already made up, which totally defeats the purpose of city hearing (as a place meant for public discussion and decision making). Now with these insulting remarks made by CM Nguyen, many questions are on everyone's mind: "Are the Sunshine Reform and open government, that Mayor Reed strongly advocated as his platform during his mayoral campaign, some sort of a joke? What happened to the citizens' encouraged participation? What happened to concerned citizens, showing up to speak at city hearings, just to be quickly dismissed and worse, insulted as a bunch of job-less people?"
Council member Chirco used the excuse of that a few attendees' "disrespectful" remarks (toward council member Nguyen) to support her so-called "compromise". What does council member Chirco think of these insulting remarks made by her own colleague toward the residents of San Jose, who naively cared enough to endure 5 useless hours, putting up some sort of performance for the fun of the 8 respectable Council members, who already made up their mind entering the council chamber that night?
I believe there are enough Vietnamese staffs in the Mayor's office, as well as many council members' office, so please review this interview on viettvonline.com (date Nov. 22) to verify what I have stated here.

Fast foward years later...She's still out of touch with her community. She's still a liar and doesn't have proper leadership skills. Last council meeting she stated that there were no complaints concerning marijuana clubs in her district. Really? So I guess the people that have been complaining in her district don't count. She should have been voted out of office . She's wasting taxpayer's money. We need a someone who can our voice out better. This city is so corrupt.

Madison Nguyen could have COMPROMISED and worked with city council to rescind that name, change to Little Saigon. She did not bulged, why?
Madison Nguyen went against opinion of the majority of her own voters, why?
Madison Nguyen never backed off, let the confrontation boiled over a silly naming controversy, why?

Ok Madison, you should be smarter than that. You said those who come to protest you have no jobs and have nothing else to do. It doesn't matter Madison, they are still citizens and have all the right to kick your butt with their votes. When you're a public servant, even a homeless man on the street in your juridiction, you still have to listen to his opinions. Bias like you with a twisted tounge should not be in a govt sector. When you serve people, serve with your heart and mind.
