Uploaded by request. The debut of groovy DJ Mel Mounds (Morgan Freeman), introducing a song by the first lineup of the Short Circus: Julie (June Angela), Iris (Irene Cara), Kathy (Melanie Henderson), Zachary (Douglas Grant) and Buddy (Stephen Gustafson). Even in the fad-driven world of the 1970s this dance never really caught on, but Carmela (Rita Moreno) seems to dig it.

Watching this again for the first time in 30something years I realize why I liked watching the Electric Company so much as a kid growing up in the 70's: Rita Moreno was one hot mama! And the music was funky as ever, cool multicultural propaganda with lots of funk and soul to the music, and black and hispanic actors featuring prominently. This show and Schoolhouse Rock were both hella fuktafied. And those colors are straight out of Yellow Submarine, or better yet the Merry Prankster Bus!
Yellow shirts, maroon shorts over maroon tights with yellow knee socks and maroon vinyl vests with maroon shoes. Its so bad its good. Or in today's vernacular, its so fail its win.
