@Interceptor1986 its a standard supra. an auto would not bounce like that when shifted in the beginning.

More than that, really. The Beetle is known for being slow (Especially that model, a Super, being heavier) because the engines are, relative to other motors, VERY sloppy. For good reason, too, their purpose is to be able to rebuild them with hand tools.
But that means they're way easy to build up if you know what you're doing.
