    Mother Maybelle's guitar is a 1928 Gibson L-5.

    Helen's I'm not sure about, but most likely a 1934 Gibson L-5.

    :)

June was singing on several shows at the same time, so this clip is taken while she was on one of the other. ;)

As a kid growing up in a small town in India in the 80s, I came across two precious things....a cassette of Hank Williams (much later I realized there was a junior Williams too) and a library that had several Lious L'Amour. That was the image of America I held in my mind for many years. Finally, I did visit America. It is a splendid place, no doubt about it...but it was not the country of my childhood dreams. When I listen to music like this...it reassures me that all is not bad in this world.

Wonder if there is anywhere I could buy a 1928 Gibson. Lovely guitar

June was a good singer, but I had read where her trouble was keeping in pitch (she could carry a tune). That's why she turned more into the comedy frame

Thanks haha :) Look like beautiful guitars, shame they seem to be going for nothing less than about $12,500 :(
