I spoke to Richard Mueller the writer of this episode (as well as the writer of the novelization of the Ghostbusters movie) in a telephone conversation a few years ago. When I mentioned That I'd seen the "Marduk photo" he quickly diverted the issue and told me Dan Aykroyd suggested many of the story ideas used for the RGB show and it was Mr. Aykroyd's input that led to this particular episode and not his own.

I heard that the picture the cops took in this part is actually genuine. Dan Akroyd wanted to make an episode based on this event.
