Why is okay then for conservatives to try and force people that are born as Homosexuals to be closeted? Why is it okay for conservatives to force Gay couples not to marry? Why is it okay for conservatives to force their religious interpretations on the religious freedoms of Gay Christians and affirmative churches that celebrate Gay Marriage?

It's ok for fundies to openly proselytize other military members without punishment, but it's not ok for a gay/lesbian service member to admit that they are who they are without losing their job?

Evangelical soldiers can print Bibles in Arabic/Pashto and hand them out to Iraqi/Afghan locals, but a woman doing the same job can't say she's a lesbian . That's messed up.

You know what I feel the heterosexuals are jealous of gay or lesbians. I mean they feel its unfair that gays get to look as super hot bodies of soldiers while they bath, or the sweaty bodies when they work out or just being in close contact in the trenches. or during hand to hand combat sessions. Just imagine if straight men were allowed to have all the above mentioned benefits there will be more recruitments in the marines or army ever.

Damn there are a lot of stupid people in the USA. I tell you what just tell your kids this: Everyone is different, no matter what color, religion (or lack of), gay or straight. Were all people in the end. Teach your children to respect everyone even if were all different were still all human.

@dutch04 I agree that sexuality is not important. I don't think that sexuality is the point per se. Soldiers spend months/years away from home. They share their lives, their stories, they talk about their families, they get to know each other etc. A hetero soldier can talk about his wife, kids etc, but until today gay people weren't encouraged to do the same. There are gay soldiers with partners and kids, now they can share their lives and stories.

Sexuality is not just about sex. It's life.

My question is if in the heat of battle a soldier says the word Faggot(soon to be an un-word) are we going to have lawsuits flying faster than bullets? I work in an adult care home and am the only male working with a bunch of women. I wonder just how open I could be about my heterosexuality before some feminist freakazoid cries that she is being made uncomfortable and then I will be out of a job. DADT works pretty well for me in my situation as my sexuality is not whats important on the job.
