Oedipis Scream:- The Smile : Music & Video Produced by Richard Maxwell © 2011 - I recorded Oedipis Scream in 1987.. Three talented musical kids from my adopted Monroe Ave neighborhood in Rochester, NY. Bassist Pat sometimes hung out at my house on Amherst Street with my wacky housemate Dirtbag. I think Pat was only about twelve and liked to sit on Dirtbag's knee.. Drummer and avid cyclist Steve lived across the street , and was not afraid to comment, 'Oh, you bought a Huffy..' to people riding by on expensive Raleigh bikes.. Guitarist Christian slept in local doorways and on neighborhood porches on Summer nights in a youthful quest for spiritual enlightenment which promised to reveal the true meaning of a hair brush. (Note: the video resolution is 720 but You Tube has decided to dither it making the text out of focus.)
