  • Wow! This seems easier than a tri-carb setup. Do you think the performance is as good? Tri-carbs look good, but I hear they're hard to maintain. I think the main issue is the old log-style intake, so if you've solved that, maybe this is the way to go?

  • @TheMadam69 In my opinion this is MUCH better than the tri-carb setup. This aluminum head even gives you a fairly straight forward path to fuel injection! The injection bosses are already present and only need to be drilled out. Give the guys at Classic Inlines a call and they'll be happy to discuss the options with you. They're great guys over there.

  • @LRobaldo Hey great looking engine! Question, what size are the intake valve and exhaust valve on that classic inline cylinder hear? Thanks!

  • @Bornwater Thanks for the complement. That would be 1.84 intake valves & 1.500 exhaust valves.

  • How much did the head cost?

  • It was around $1500 for the head. Roughtly another $300 for the intake. Approx $430 for the carb. Then add a few hundred more for the air filter, carb plenum, gaskets, studs, etc...

  • @LRobaldo Yeah, the Classic Inlines stuff looks really good. Of course, when I looked at the CI head and manifold I got major sticker shock - don't think I can buy that ticket.... Seems like there should be a way to improve the intake situation while keeping the old head, or getting a used one. GM guys modify the intake, and I've also seem people build pipe intakes.

  • i just came a river

  • Wow, stands still real good! Few hotrodders value the cool-factor of a high performance parking brake.

  • @Hotrodx199 Lol yeah They're good engines too i had one that sat in a barn for about 6 years and i took it out, cleaned the carb and it ran like a dream.....

  • @dangerz25 Personally i would keep the inline 6 and invest in some engine mods. These things have the torque to pull a house off it's foundation. About every old mustang i see has a 289 in it, very small have the inline 6. Just drop in an ol' 4 speed for fun and you're all set
