The T-Mac Supreme Bogger

This is a short video of a Google SketchUp model that I created over Christmas of '08. The 3D model itself took about 2 weeks to create but the design was something that I had been working on for quite a while.

The main point of mechanical interest is the design of the suspension. A believe it is an entirely original layout and potentially superior to any other layout. It is four wheel independent with no straight axles between the tires to catch on mud and trees. The biggest advantage of this design is the ability for each tire to move back several inches as the suspension is compressed. This should allow for better shock absorption at high speeds. It is relatively simple and allows for extreme amounts of travel.

This movie was created using a combination Google SketchUp's built in animation tool and iMovie '09 to add music and titles. A black, first generation Macbook was used for both the 3D modeling and the movie editing.

This is what happens when I have no job! I get bored and make things like this.

That's really good! I've been using sketchup for close to a year now and have taught myself sooooo much in it. From experience, I know that model must have taken a ton of time throughout those two weeks, and it turned out seemingly flawless. Your suspension idea is incredible and I've never heard of anything like it. Again, great job! :)
