Evil Bas-Celik is terrorizing people, but only the magic sword can harm him. A young hero goes on the dangerous quest to find that sword.
One of the fist movies in Socialist Federal Yugoslavia that did not have WWII as a subject, as was the "fashion" at the time (the motion picture was made in 1950). The story is Serbian folklore turned into a movie, and to Serbian thirty plus generation, this film could be amusing since the old-school actors who were already old when we were born were just kids in this one. Also, many of the actors went on to become very respected professionals in the Yugoslav (Serbian) film industry, like Rade Markovic, Bata Paskaljevic and Pavle Vujisic. And lets not forget Stevo Zigon... The film is amusing in many aspects, it is heavily influenced by the Hollywood epics popular at the time, but it has several interesting aspects like the costumes and the special effects, although with todays CGI one would chuckle. Still, at the time it was a serious creation, and it is watchable even today.
