great that you want to become a speech therapist but I know that speech therapists don't know and neither learn how to treat stuttering. I do treat stuttering in a 10 day intensive workshop after my fathers method. Its minimum 90% or more successfull. But your stuttering is a mild case, so it should be easy to get rid off of it. therapy has never helped me. they help me temporarily (sp?) but nothing really caught on. i work in retail as well (wal-mart) a lot of my old friends are proud of me, that i am able to work in retail, with my speech impediment.

Sometimes (not for everyone) hypnosis can help. My younger brother has a stutter once in a while. He saw a hypnotist and did get some relief, though it was temporary.
