The CBC's long running docu-series Doc Zone had a very good episode last year about the Oil Industry, the pipe lines, the oil sands, the spills, etc., called Blowout: Is Canada Next? When they discuessed the BP's oil spill they mentioned that there is a mechanism in the oil rig that's supposed to cut through the machine to stop oil spills in the ocean's oil rigs, and in recorded history this mechanism has NEVER worked.
