Oh cut the woo crap. We've had 2000 yrs to "study" a book smaller than SK's The Stand, and we still can't nail down or prove a single thing in it other than the book's existence. No originals, no proof of "grace" and "divine inspiration", nothing. It's a book, and it's man made. Faith is "evidence of things not seen"? Do you realize how dumb you sound and how contradictory that is? That is what faith is, but that's a huge con IMO, not a rational pro. Stop talking to shadows and live your life.

I feel very sad for Mr. Hithchens here.

His mother having killed herself I'm sure was very difficult, and he is visibly shaken by having been asked to discuss her, and her suicide.

He cannot bring himself to blame her-he blames the man she was seeing, and he blames God.

He doesn't understand the workings of God, and so, he believes God could have and should have, stopped her killing herself.

Eeesh. These claims of healing by the religious. Completely unverifiable, unrepeatable, undocumented, impracticable. There are plenty of things the human body does, and then stops doing. Cancer is one of those things. There are documented instances of cancer dying out by itself. No miracles were involved, although it may have seemed like it. My question to her would be how long it took to become well, because it could've taken months or years, which to me would indicate praying does nothing.

buffnstuff- Its a general programme about him, his opinions, life, friends etc. I think its fair game (CH says so himself), if a little tactlessly phrased. However if you watch closely the interview looks like he's going to be vague (ie wet) and say "discuss 'what happend' with your mother" or something like that, but thought better of it, as CH may have thought it 'euphemistic' or not very orwellian, if you follow me.
