@ATHLETICJUMPS Not because I know on sight but I think the other jumper is Henry Lauterbach, mainly because it's fitting. He was fourth in the moscow olympics on 2.29 and has a personal best of 2.30

Thanks a lot for posting this. I can see what the main problem is with the straddle. It'd BS that only with the flop can you have your center of gravity pass at or below the height of the bar. With the straddle, as you can see here, these guys clear the bar with much of their body below the bar at any given moment. I think the main advantage that the flop has is with the high speed of the run-up and allowing for the transfer of the horizontal speed into the vertical lift-off speed.
