He's amazing! I have to say though, his Titan A.E. was one of his best! I like the combination of 3D with 2D. To me it's very underrated.

Yeah Hopefully Don Bluth will give us one or two more...I hope so as he is getting pretty old...Glad to see you appreciate his work!

True. Hopefully we'll see another 2D animated film. Maybe in the style that Don Bluth did when he did Titan A.E., The Secret of Nimh, and the two American Tail movies.

Rock on man! I have to agrre that 3D can't pretend to be 2D. By the way, my animation Thief and the Fighter will have the toon shaded look. Only cause I want to see what it looks like cause I may use it for another project as well.

Hey man...No I don't believe drawing will die out as it is always required-people work things out best on paper... However,I have recently been storyboarding on a movie and maybe moving onto another one... even storyboards now are starting to be done on Cintiq and Wacom...I do believe that one day somebody will make a good traditional film and when they do it will feel fresh and original and a string will follow...this seems to be the cycle of the indusrty...

To me, pencil drawing won't die though. There are those who do believe in the tradition art though. That's just my opinion though. I don't see pencil work dying, that's just not how I see it. You are correct on the fact that the big industry can't take the world of traditional drawing away from us.

Hey Thanks for the kind words!
Yes it's sad that the craft of draftsmanship seems to be disassociated with animation. This is evident in a lot of movies as the characters silhouette says nothing about his mood. CG today seems to be about snappy pose to pose animation. I haven't seen the subtleties that lie in movies such as sword in the stone. What saddens me is that the pixar mentality has invaded Disney and for that reason I do not hold my breath for the frog princess...

realy nice animation and woop for traditional im sick to the teeth of cgi, i hope traditional comes back hopefully disneys frog princess ill re kindle the embers that r burning low, im not gonna give up on 2d computer animation will hit its stride someday i belive !
WOW! I have to say this is amazing. I'm not that great with 2D animation, aside of what you seen in my CyberRock Music video. I'm great a tweening in Flash, but not as much with frame by frame (even though I did a frame by frame stickman walk cycle a few years ago). There is a unique style with both 2D and 3D animation. I do have to say though, I think most people have forgotten that 2D isn't dated at all and should continue it. I do like a good blend of 2D mixed with 3D animation as well.

Hey man always appreciate your words!
I think we produce our best work in the medium we feel most comfortable in!
I agree that both have a unique quality.
What saddens me though is when one style tries to ape another eg 3D pretending to be
2D - no point pretending to be something else...Yes 2D can never date...Drawing is eternal may be technique will date but the same can be said for any discipline...Heres to animation what ever the medium 2D or 3D or stop motion claymation etc...!
