If the idea is to have feminist’s equality and equity then such endeavours would have more devastating effects. Presenting religions and feminism on collision course would certainly contribute more in harming the women struggle then bringing any good. There need to be more balanced approach and discourse and even religions themselves can be used for equal rights of all human beings. Let’s not carried away with our antagonistic notions and manichaean views against religions and especially Islam.

There is only a conflict between feminism and Christianity.
There is a love afair between feminism and Islam.

@blueshogun96 True that.

@bigman1171 Yeah, notice how the US started going against the gender roles clearly underlined in the bible, the country started getting out of control. Feminism is very anti-God and this was stated by some of the first feminists. Whether people realize it or not, feminism has played a major role in the downsizing of the US and western society. The government knows it because ignorant masses are easier to control and manipulate.

You guys are FUCKED UP! I'm a Christian boy and I'm glad that my bible tells women to cook my food and do whatever I tell them to do. Religion is a vital part of a family to keep stable. Women are put here on earth to feed, fold, and fuck. Remember eve came from adams ribs and eve was the first Hunan being to disobey god. There's a good reason why Islam and Christianity is supposed to keep women under control. No one wants a woman in charge of the world, it will only make things worse.

@LadyScorpio39 Wrong! The Catholic religion is a feminist religion that prays to Mary. And none of the Catholic men object to this. Compare this with the video called "What Women Want is Worship".

I like that fact that this research and video was done by a man

You're amazing for spreading the truth. This is appalling. I get chills thinking this is world we're in. I don't understand how religion is even legal. In 2011! It should've been abolished right along with slavery. If you hate racism, you should hate sexism. If you don't, you're just another hypocrite. As long as people stick with religion, women will always be oppressed. Always be chained slaves forever. PC is ruining justice, I tell ya.

religion has been used by men for thousands of years to repress and control women.
the vatican's position on women is scandalous. to say women cannot be part of the hierarchy in this boys club at the vatican is scandalous.
why any women want to be part of religious is beyond me.
i was raised catholic. but i will never take part in the catholic religion again unless the vatican chooses to make women equal.

Here here. Nicely made and well said. Thanks man.
liberation theology is not entrenched in patriarchal attitudes, neither are many interpretations of christianity.
i don't respect religion, i respect religious people and realize that they need help and i can't force my spiritual beliefs on people who i'm trying to help through my political activism.
as for islam, i realize you want to expand the "discussion" to that but I really have no comment, I won't get involved in those dicussions.

@iremythpurr I do have certain problems with liberation theology,but I would agree that liberation theology does not inherently support patriarchy.But how do you interpret stoning a woman if she is not a virgin on her wedding night?The texts themselves are patriarchal and no amount of interpretation can square that circle.I dont understand why you dont want to discuss Islam,but that is your perogative.This video was not an attack but me venting on the subject.peace and love and all that stuff :)
