Apocalipsis 7:17

There's a step that we all take alone
An appointment we have with the great unknown
Like a vapor this life is just waiting to pass
Like the flowers that fade, like the withering grass
But life seems so long and death so complete
And the grave an impossible potion to cheat
But there's One who has been there and still lives to tell
There is One who has been through both heaven and hell
And the grave will come up empty-handed the day
Jesus will come and steal us away

(Coro)
Where is the sting, tell me where is the bite
When the grave robber comes like a thief in the night
Where is the victory, where is the prize
When the grave robber comes
And death finally dies

Many still mourn and many still weep
For those that the love who have fallen asleep
But we have this hope though our hearts may still ache
Just one shout from above and they all will awake
And in the reunion of joy we will see
Death will be swallowed in sweet victory

When the last enemy is done from the dust will come a song
Those asleep will be awakened - not a one will be forsakened
He shall wipe away our tears - He will steal away our fears
There will be no sad tomorrow - there will be no pain and sorrow

"Ladron De Tumbas"

  • Thank you for posting this. I found it just when I needed it!

  • Not terribly religious, and I've never been one to affiliate with any specific belief system, but this song certainly gets you thinking, which is a strange concept in contemporary culture.

It certainly has opened my eyes to the possibility of an afterlife. The forces of death cannot simply win 100% of the time.

  • just thought of this right now this song kinda reminds me of lazaraus in the bible and his sisters that wept for him and jesus told them not to weep!!!

  • @gooseaskreply I believe the date of the show was either late 1993 or early1994.Petra had just released their new album Beyond Belief. The Newsboys were in Fredericksburg because they were still part of Street Cry,where early christian bands came together and played every weekend to a mostly secular audience.

  • @Larry731000 when was it?

  • I got to see PETRA at the Patriot Center in Virginia. They opened the show for the NEWSBOYS. Awesome message Awesome show. They shot lazers through stained glass windows into the audience. There were more unsaved than Christians at the show . In the middle of the show at altar call over 3,000 men and women went up to accept Christ

  • He cast fire into the earth with His first coming, according to what He said in the Gospels, 1Corinthians 15:28 says He comes back to put THE WORLD out and give it to God.

  • Just close your eyes and listen to this song as a Christian Universalist, AS IF THERE HAD NEVER BEEN a false rapture doctrine, and prepare to accidentally levitate that body! roflol roflol

  • Not a good song for someone RECENTLY brought into the Christian Universalist paradigm of the 18th Century while one is in a garage! They're liable to pick up the car and throw it through the house in excitement!!!!

  • Oldie but a goodie of Christian Universalist classics for anyone that's read BOTH Andrew Jukes and Charles Chauncy. Perhaps Elhanan Winchester as well;-)
