In 1951, two of the oldest names in the funeral business in Birmingham, Johns and Ridout, joined hands to give the city one of the finest and most personal mortuary services. These two names have meant comfort and solace to thousands of families throughout the years.

Providing over 100 years of heritage, this union has continued throughout the years as one of the South's finest funeral homes. The two firms, Johns Funeral Chapel and Ridout's Brown Service Mortuary combined to establish a larger and more complete funeral service located in the center of Birmingham, Alabama. In doing so, these two firms created a beautiful, spacious and comfortable chapel, along with an ever-growing, caring and professional staff, with one goal in mind: a strong desire to comfort those in need and show dignity and decorum to those who have lost a loved one. Johns-Ridout's Funeral Parlors has strived since 1951 to uphold the traditions set before them by Mr. Frank Ridout and Mr. Liewellyn Johns.
