On night 1 of the 2007 TBN Revival Praise-a-thon (April 8-13), T.D. Jakes twisted Old Testament scripture. To entice people to give any money they had left to TBN. He claimed that they needed to move while the "anointing" was moving. And giving TBN money could save their marriage, help their child, give them back all that they lost, birth what they dreamed to birth, have what they dreamed to have, save their business and so on. You name it, he was telling you to hit the phones right then and there and all would change.
This time Jakes abused 2 Kings 6:1-7. Read Titus 1:5-11.

Instead of giving these money hungry thieves your money u could give it to the homeless man down your road or that hungry neighbor of yours, its still a blessing cuz you gave without excepting a return(Biblical) unlike these guys asking u to pay for a breakthrough (demonic).
SO true man, so true. Not only that but the old testament tithes could go up to as much as thirty percent because the tithe was given at different times of the year and for different purposes, sometimes for the priests and sometimes for the government. It amazes how widespread it is that Pastors preachs tithes as New Testament law. And I often wonder so they really believe that it is required or even they know it is not law but preach it for fear that no one will give.
I love how these preachers always say "God is about to do something in your life" and for many people GOd has about to been doing something for like 15-20 years...but he is about to do something!! lol
thank god that someone agrees with me...i am usually the one critisized because i have the nerve to invoke the truth contained in scripture rather than just believing eveyone that is charismatic or has a gift for gab.
I am not judgemental, just not easily decieved. I am like the bereans in Acts 17:11-- I uphold everything I hear to the sciptures, I do not care how charismatic, how appealing, how well dressed, how succesful according to american standard, how anything a preacher is. If God wanted us to take every preachers word for it Christ would not have died and became our high priest and we would still be in need of priests to enter the holy of holies on our behalf. I appreciate your shout out.
