@frogzlove I just meant battery powered and light as a bicycle. not the massive overweight scooters have. looking like a bicycle but with a lower more comfortable seat. an ass seat instead of the horrible groin seat bicycles have.
if pedals are required then have a model with a bare minimum pedal wired to a generator in fixed gearing. not the 27 gears nonsense

@DanFrederiksen You just contracted yourself. You say lose the pedals and that a moped config is better. Moped means MOtor and PEDals. MO-PED. I think what you want is an electric scooter and there are plenty of those. When you have a scooter or electric bike with pedals, most cities will allow just bike licenses so there is a need for it for some. Otherwise, you need a DOT helmet in some places and it gets to regulated and costly.

I ride a bicycle all the time, I don't have a car, but if we are going to electrify bikes I really think we should lose the pedals. a bicycle is a really uncivilized vehicle. quite uncomfortable seating and if you have to go somewhere fast you get all sweaty.
I think a moped config is better. a wider softer seat, smaller wheels which are easier to gear for electric motors and then just drive on battery power. why pretend to pedal.. and it can still be a light structure like a bike
